Registering to Vote
The first step in voting is registering! To check if you're registered to vote, click here. You MUST be registered to vote in the Carlisle School District to vote in this election, so make sure that's where you're registered. If you need to register or re-register to vote in Carlisle, click here. It never hurts to re-register, just in case! It's important that you are registered to vote by Friday, September 1st at 5:00 PM. If you miss this deadline, then you can also register in person before voting on Election Day.
Unable to vote in person? No worries! You can request an absentee ballot here. Once completed, mail the absentee ballot to the Warren County Auditor (Traci VanderLinden - 301 N. Buxton, Suite 101, Indianola, IA 50125). If you live in Easter Lake, you still mail your absentee ballot to the Warren County Auditor even though you live within Polk County. The deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail is Friday, September 8th at 5:00 PM. The ballot MUST be postmarked by Monday, September 11th.
Election Day Voting
The school board election will be held on Tuesday, September 12th and polls will be open from 7:00 AM until 8:00 PM. If you don't know where to vote, click here or click here. If you live in Carlisle or the Easter Lake area, you will most likely vote at the Family Life Center at 405 School Street in Carlisle. If you live in Hartford, you will most likely vote at the United Presbyterian Church at 315 N. Vine Street in Hartford. Always double check where to vote!
